Hi there. I suppose I’m the new kid on the block at Moreton Medical Centre. I qualified from Liverpool medical school back in 1999 and from there spent five years working in various hospital posts. Some enjoyable and some not so. Suddenly one cold christmas day morning on my way to work at the hospital, I saw the light. General practice for me! I spent a year working as a registrar for a great practice over the water in Liverpool. Oh how I miss the Birkenhead tunnel first thing in the morning and the friendly gestures drivers exchange. Get there after eight am and you might as well pay and display. If you have the misfortune to commute each day you’ll know what I mean.
Life here at Moreton is treating me well especially as I’ve now got to grips with the computer. You may or may not notice I’m part time so move consulting rooms a lot. Yes it’s a nomadic life for me but it keeps everyone on their toes. As a result of this I have aquired what on the outside appears to be a hostess trolley but unfortunately for me doesn’t contain drinks but my work paraphernalia.
I am married and have an eighteen month old daughter Chloe who until recently was the model of good behaviour, then suddenly she became the boss. Yes the terrible twos are here for us. Super nanny help! Temper tantrums, hitting and biting. Yes we’ve got it all, except babysitters that is.
I recently played table tennis for a local team with some success but injuring my knee has put that on hold for the moment, (still hobbling) after an operation. Under doctors orders for now, no sport only walking allowed. Fine by me as I get away to the Lake District walking and of course sample a few of Cumbria’s fine real ales. In my spare time I can on occasion also be found hiding away at the GP OOH so beware.
